Harris County driver blames transport companies, driver for crash injuries

Car accident 08

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing two transport companies and a driver, alleging their negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Victor Peters filed a lawsuit Sept. 9 in Harris County District Court against Manheim Texas Hobby, Truman Autos Inc. and Chima Okene of Austell, Georgia, alleging they breached their duties to protect others persons and property.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 4, 2014, Peters sustained injuries when Okene, who was driving a vehicle owned by Truman Autos, struck the plaintiff's car, knocking him unconscious.

The suit says Peters sustained injuries that caused him to be rushed to the emergency room and resulted in pain, mental anguish, loss of earning capacity and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Manheim Texas failed to provide a safe place to work, Truman Autos carelessly entrusted its truck to a reckless and negligent driver and Okene failed to operate the vehicle in a reasonable manner.

Peters seeks trial by jury, medical damages, costs of court and any further relief that is just and appropriate. He is represented by attorneys Clyde "Chips" Adams and Michael E. Pierce of Pierce Skrabanek Bruera PLLC in Houston.
