Employee alleges Brow Shape did not pay overtime wages

Law money 07

TYLER – An eyebrow shaper alleges she worked between 45 to 75 hours a week and was not properly compensated for all hours worked by a Tyler employer.

Zarina Ghany filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Sept. 8 in the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Avadhut LLC, doing business as Brow Shape, alleging that the employer violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked between 45 and 75 hours per week but was not paid overtime wages at one-and-one-half times her regular hourly rate. The plaintiff holds Avadhut LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay proper overtime compensation for those hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a single week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks recover from defendant the unpaid wages due, liquidated damages, court costs, attorneys’ fees and such other and further relief as the court deems just. She is represented by William S. Hommel Jr. of Hommel Law Firm in Tyler.
