Injured worker accuses employers of discrimination

BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County man is suing Beaumont businesses, alleging he was fired because he was injured. 

Keith Shaun Davis filed a lawsuit Sept. 7 in Jefferson County District Court against Personnel Staffing Inc. and Modern AG Products Ltd., alleging discrimination, retaliation and wrongful discharge in violation of the Texas Labor Code.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 8, 2014, Davis was injured while working on the job. The suit says the defendants began taking discriminatory actions against him, culminating in his wrongful discharge Nov. 7, 2014. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants engaged in discriminatory misconduct and retaliatory discharge for Davis filing an on the job injury claim.

Davis seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $1 million, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by attorneys Michael Patrick Doyle and Patrick M. Dennis of Doyle Trial Lawyers in Houston.
