Beaumont motorist blames ambulance company, driver for causing crash

Car accident 20

BEAUMONT — A Beaumont woman is suing an ambulance company and a driver, alleging their negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Dennis Harris filed a lawsuit Sept. 6 in Jefferson County District Court against Acadian Ambulance and Julie Dale Willette, alleging Acadian negligently hired and trained Willette.

According to the complaint, on July 7, 2015, Harris was stopped on the 2600 block of 11th Street in Beaumont. The suit says Willette, in the course of her employment with Acadian Ambulance, rear-ended the plaintiff's vehicle.

As a result of the collision, the suit says, Harris sustained serious injuries, resulting in great pain, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Willette failed to maintain proper lookout, failed to timely apply her brakes and failed to take evasive actions to avoid a collision.

Harris seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, costs of court, pre- and post-judgment and all other relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by attorney E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups & Terrell LLP in Beaumont.
