HOUSTON – A former crew chief for lawn maintenance providers alleges he was not properly compensated for overtime work.
Tommie Fisher filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Lawn Ranger Services LLC, Lawn Ranger Co. Inc., and Walter P. Crowder, also known as Walt Crowder alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was paid the same hourly rate regardless of the number hours he worked each workweek for the defendants. The plaintiff holds Lawn Ranger Services LLC, Lawn Ranger Co. Inc. and Crowder responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff at a rate of time-and-one-half for the extra hours worked.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for damages for the full amount of his unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses, pre- and post-judgment interest and for such other and further relief.
