GALVESTON — An employee is suing Galveston County home builders, alleging their negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Jose Celvera-Rodriguez filed a lawsuit Sept. 20 in Galveston County District Court against Chuck Morris Coastal Homes and Charles Morris, alleging failure to provide a safe workplace.

According to the complaint, on July 1, 2015, Celvera-Rodriguez  was working as an employee for the defendants when he fell from a platform. The suit says he sustained significant injuries that resulted in physical pain and mental anguish, loss of earning capacity, disfigurement, plus medical care and related expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide any appropriate safety equipment and/or proper training or supervision.

Celvera-Rodriguez seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $2 million, plus interest and all other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by attorney Jason A. Powers of Jim S. Adler & Associates in Houston.
