Administrative assistant files suit against Denison over her termination

SHERMAN – A Grayson County administrative assistant is suing the city of Denison over her termination.

Kathleen Boatright filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against city of Denison alleging violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in October 2013, she was diagnosed with breast cancer that required medical care and reasonable accommodations. On Feb. 23, the suit states she was wrongfully accused of misuse of credit card, of theft, and of falsification of records. She alleges she followed the policies and guidelines for reporting mileage and library expenses. She was discharged on Feb. 29, the suit states.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court, interest, liquidated damages, punitive damages, attorney’s fees; costs of court and all further relief. She is represented by Ronald R. Huff in Sherman.
