Louisiana man alleges he was injured on Energy XXI platform

Oilrig 06

GALVESTON – A Louisiana man alleges he was injured while working on an oil platform.

Jermaine Hines filed a complaint on Sept. 22 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Energy XXI Services LLC, Energy XXI GOM LLC, Energy XXI Holdings Inc. and IOS/PCI LLC, doing business as Inspection Oilfield Services alleging that they failed to provide a safe work environment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 26, he was injured while he was working on a platform owned and controlled by defendants. He alleges he sustained severe pain, physical impairment and disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of earning capacity and pharmaceutical and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Energy XXI Services LLC, Energy XXI GOM LLC, Energy XXI Holdings Inc. and IOS/PCI LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly train and supervise their crew, failed to provide adequate safety equipment and operated the vessel without adequate crew.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, jointly and severally, in a total sum in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interests, court costs, attorneys’ fees and all such other and further relief. He is represented by Kurt B. Arnold, J. Kyle Findley and Kala F. Sellers of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
