HOUSTON — A Houston man is suing a used car dealership and its agents, alleging civil conspiracy and deceptive trade practices.
Stanley Hunt filed a lawsuit Oct. 19 in Harris County District Court against 3BK Shepherd Investments LLC, doing business as Scott & Sons Auto Sales, Bob Scott, Kyle Scott, Carl Vidal and K.C. Morris, alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
According to the complaint, on June 6, 2015, Hunt visited the defendants' used car dealership with the intent to purchase a used automobile for the purpose of reselling it for profit. The suit says Hunt entered into a contract with the defendant to purchase a 2005 Nissan Altima for $6,995 and later informed Morris that he had entered into a contract with a third party for the sale of the vehicle for $10,000.
Hunt alleges he suffered monetary damages for the cancellation of the deal and loss of proceeds from a third party. The plaintiff alleges the defendants interfered with the plaintiffs' third party contract, refused to surrender the original title and intentionally filed a lien against the original title of the Nissan Altima.
Hunt seeks trial by jury, monetary damages up to $100,000, all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees costs of court and all other relief. Hunt is representing himself in the case.
