HOUSTON — A drilling supervisor is suing Nabors Drilling USA LP, a former employer, citing alleged age discrimination, retaliation and violation of civil rights.
Juan Serratos filed a complaint on Oct. 27, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Nabors Drilling USA LP alleging that the former employer violated the Age Discrimination Employment Act and the Civil Rights Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on May 3, 2015, he was laid off from his employment because he was 56 years old. Prior to his termination, he was was subjected to racially discriminatory intimidation, ridicule and insults. The plaintiff holds Nabors Drilling USA LP responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected him to discriminatory actions, which were so severe and/or pervasive that they altered the conditions of his employment condition. He was also subjected to adverse employment action in retaliation against him for participating in protected activities.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks promotion, back pay and front pay, award for compensatory and exemplary damages damages, attorney fees and court costs and all other appropriate relief. He is represented by Darren Grant and Matthew B. Flanery of Grant & Flanery PC in Tyler.
