MARSHALL — A Pittsburg motorist is suing a commercial trucking company and a driver, alleging their negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Meagan L. Howard filed a lawsuit Nov. 8 in Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Norma A. Bowers and Richard G. Carmona, doing business as Carmona and Sons Trucking, alleging failure to to properly train and supervise their drivers.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 18, Howard was carefully operating her motor vehicle on the 2900 block of South Jefferson Avenue, Mount Pleasant. The suit says a tractor-trailer rig leased by Carmona and operated by Bowers violently struck Howard's vehicle, causing serious injuries to the neck and lower back of the plaintiff.

The plaintiff alleges Bowers recklessly drove the tractor-trailer rig without a commercial driver’s license, attempted to make an improper left turn and failed to maintain a careful lookout.

Howard seeks trial by jury, all damages with pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and expenses and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by attorney Guy I. Wade III of Derryberry Zips Wade Lawhorn PLLC in Dallas.
