HOUSTON – Andrews Kurth Kenyon, an international law firm based with an office in Houston, Texas, has added two new partners who will assume their new roles on Jan. 1.

Thomas R. McCulloch and Harve Truskett have been named as the newest partners in the Houston branch of the international law firm. According to Bob Jewell, a managing partner at Andrews Kurth Kenyon, the election of these lawyers is part of the company’s effort to provide better service to its clients. He further shared that experience and professional achievements of the new partners are testament to the firm’s resolve to extend quality service to the community.

“The addition of this new group of partners strengthens our ability to offer great service and value to our clients every day,” Jewell stated in a press release. “Their election to the partnership is a reflection of the firm’s commitment to excellence."

Aside from McCulloch and Truskett, Andrews Kurth Kenyon also added J. Russel Denton as the newest partner in Austin while the Battery Park office in New York elected Michael S. Turner.

McCulloch has been an expert in handling complex civil litigation cases both in federal and state court across the United States. His focus lies on working on appellate and commercial litigation as well as litigation and dispute resolution. In particular, he has worked closely on the defense for managed care entities.

His experience in this area includes handling the cases of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, Medicare, Federal Employees Health Benefits Act, bad faith insurance allegations, prompt pay, and contractual and extra-contractual disputes with providers and hospitals. His latest representations had him working on cases in California, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida and Texas. A summa cum laude from the Texas Tech University School of Law, McCulloch also served as the articles editor at the Texas Tech Law Review. He obtained his juris doctor in 2007.

Truskett is an expert in a wide array of areas especially with energy-related cases. He also worked on matters related to reserve-based lending transactions. His body of work included handling the issues of buyers and sellers in both upstream and midstream oil and gas acquisitions and divestures as well as negotiating gas gathering agreements.

In addition, Truskett represented owners of mineral royalty interests as well as energy issuers and underwriters in public equity offerings. His experience in transactions linked to the oil and gas assets in major United States shale plays, such as the Eagle Ford Shale, Bakken Shale, Barnett Shale, Haynesville Shale, Marcellus Shale and Utica Shale, further makes him a sought after expert in his profession.
