Customer alleges repair shop operators violated law

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing operators of an auto repair shop, alleging breach of warranty and negligent misrepresentation.

Reyna Brizuela filed a lawsuit Nov. 28 in Harris County District Court against TBC Corporation, NTW LLC and Jared Osborne, alleging violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 5, Brizuela brought her 2015 Jeep Wrangler to the defendants' National Tire and Battery shop for an oil change. As a result of the defendants' negligence, the suit says, Brizuela has suffered substantial damage to her vehicle's engine and the vehicle itself.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants mishandled the oil change process and failed to remedy the problem that they created.

The plaintiff seeks trial by jury, judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally, for all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Steven M. Stricklin of Houston.
