HOUSTON — Two customers are suing Houston nightclub operators, alleging the defendants' negligence caused the defendants to fall down stairs.

Angie Gonzalez of Harris County and Stephany Gonzalez of Fort Bend County filed a complaint on Nov. 28, in the Harris County District Court against Vanderbilt Group LLC and Ben Wah Property LLC, alleging that they breached their duty to provide a safe environment.

According to the complaint, on April 23, Angie Gonzalez and Stephany Gonzalez were seriously injured after they slipped and fell down the stairs inside the defendants' Life Houston nightclub on Fannin Street in Houston. The suit says the plaintiffs sustained physical pain and impairment, and mental anguish.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to make the condition of the stairs reasonably safe.

Angie Gonzalez and Stephany Gonazlez seek trial by jury, seek monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest at the legal rate, costs of court and all other special relief. They are represented by attorneys Luisa F. Calderon and Jessica Collins of The Calderon Firm in Houston.
