HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a local business, alleging violation of workers compensation acts in not paying proper overtime wages.

Emile Jackson filed a lawsuit Nov. 30 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Hardman Signs LP and Clay W. Hardman, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Jackson has worked as a fork lift operator and scraping acrylic in addition to administrative duties an average of 60 hours per week without receiving overtime rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 a week.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants blatantly disregarded his federally protected rights by failing to pay overtime premium as required FLSA.

Jackson seeks trial by jury, unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, interest, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Thomas H. Padgett Jr. of Ross Law Group in Bellaire.
