Nurse anaesthetist accuses hospital of wrongful termination, discrimination

Wrongful term 14

MARSHALL — A nurse anesthetist is suing a Longview hospital, alleging disability discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Gregory Conley filed a complaint Dec. 2 in Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Good Shepherd Hospital, alleging violation of the ADA Amendments Act.

According to the complaint, on July 1, Conley was terminated form his employment causing him to suffer economic damages, including lost wages and benefits, loss of enjoyment of life and injury to his character and reputation.

The plaintiff alleges Good Shepherd Hospital refused to permit him to return to work after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, failed to provide reasonable accommodations, failed to engage in the interactive process and terminated his employment in retaliation for his filing a charge of discrimination with the EEOC.

Conley seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, plus interest, reinstatement, attorney fees, court costs and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Steven B. Thorpe and Carla S. Hatcher of Thorpe, Hatcher & Washington PLLC in Dallas.
