HOUSTON — A pressure control operator is suing a Texas technology company, alleging violation of workers compensation acts in failing to pay overtime.

John Sampy filed a lawsuit Dec. 2 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Schlumberger Technology Corporation alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Sampy worked more than 40 hours per week servicing, repairing and maintaining various grease equipment units. The suit says he was paid a base salary plus day rate bonuses but without proper overtime compensation. The plaintiff alleges Schlumberger Technology failed to comply with the minimum wage and overtime provisions contained within the FLSA.

Sampy seeks trial by jury, all unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, pre-judgment interest, costs of court and attorney fees and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu of Houston.
