Piping engineer alleges employers failed to pay overtime

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing joint employers, alleging violation of workers compensation acts in failing to pay overtime.

Michael Martin, individually and on behalf of other similarly situated employees and former employees, filed a class action complaint Dec. 9 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against NES Global LLC and Technip USA, Inc., alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Martin regularly worked as a piping engineer more than 40 hours per week but was not paid time and one-half time his hourly rate for hours worked more than 40 as required by FLSA. 

Martin seeks trial by jury, actual and liquidated damages with interest, attorney fees and costs of court, plus all other proper relief. He is represented by attorneys G. Scott Fiddler and Andrew W. Reed of Fiddler & Associates PC in Houston.
