SHERMAN — A Denton resident is suing the Republic at Denton, The Scion Group LLC, DP Funding Corp., Kristin Keller, Ronald Manning and others, citing alleged breach of housing agreement.

Talia Houston filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against the defendants, alleging that they violated the Texas Fair Housing Act and the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, Houston alleges that as a result of defendants action, she was forced to move out of defendants's premises in order to keep her service dog. She holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly refused to rent or negotiate to rent apartment unit because of her disability and refused to reasonably accommodate plaintiff’s disability.

Houston requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages, attorney's fees, costs and expenses for this suit and all other equitable relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Kathy E. Roux of Law Office of Kathy Roux in Grapevine.
