SHERMAN — A Grayson County registered nurse is suing a Plano hospital, alleging age discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Samuel J. Kennemer Jr. filed a complaint Jan. 20 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Texas Health Resources, doing business as Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, alleging violation of Title VII of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 1, 2016, Kennemer, 66, was terminated from his employment. The suit says he has been damaged monetarily by the loss of his employment, causing him to suffer lost wages and benefits, anxiety and depression.

The plaintiff alleges Presbyterian Hospital of Plano discriminated against him because of his age, 66, and retaliated and terminated his employment for filing a charge of discrimination with the EEOC.

Kennemer seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages, plus interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other general and special relief. He is represented by attorney John P. Knouse of The Law Office of John P. Knouse in Dallas.
