Customer blames Kroger for injuries

Slip02

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing Kroger, alleging the store's negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Crystal Gonzales filed a complaint Jan. 26 in Harris County District Court against The Kroger Co., alleging breach of duty to use ordinary care to ensure premises are safe.

According to the complaint, on July 16, 2016, while at the Kroger store in La Porte, Gonzales was walking down the paper products aisle when she suddenly slipped and fell to the ground due to a liquid substance.

As a direct and proximate result, the suit says, she suffered physical injuries, damages and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Kroger failed to uphold its duty to maintain and keep its premises safe and failed to warn customers of the dangerous condition.

Gonzales seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $50,000, damages, costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Wes Klinger Jr. of Wes Klinger Law Office PLLC in Beach City.
