HOUSTON — A Harris County dog owner is suing a pit bull owner, alleging the defendant's negligence led to injuries to the plaintiff and one of her pets.

Lauren E. Fournier filed a complaint Feb. 8 in Harris County District Court against Michelle Patricia Phoenix, alleging she breached her duty to exercise reasonable care to prevent her dogs from injuring others.

According to the complaint, on June 19, 2015, Fournier was walking her three leash-restrained dogs through the intersection of Lamar and Palmer when two unrestrained pit bulls that came from Phoenix's residence attacked Fournier and her pets. The suit says Fournier suffered injuries all over her body and her smallest dog suffered multiple and severe injuries.

The plaintiff alleges Phoenix failed to keep the attacking canines inside the residence and failed to keep them on leashes when outside the home.

Fournier seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000 and all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Brian P. Cweren of The Cweren Law Firm in Houston.
