HOUSTON – A couple’s day at the spa resulted in a burst breast implant for the girlfriend, according to a lawsuit filed Mar. 8 in the Harris County 113th District Court.

Houston resident Sonya Darlene Otero brought the suit against Cloud 9 Foot Spa Houston, LLC.

Otero and her boyfriend went to the defendant’s establishment on Apr. 16, 2016 to celebrate their anniversary. They completed forms and the plaintiff stated she wanted a massage of medium intensity, the suit says.

Shortly after the session began, court papers further explain, Otero suffered “a horrific experience and traumatic injuries” as “the force and lack of proper technique used during the massage burst her right breast implant.”

Per Otero, the subject incident caused her to seek medical attention, as well as undergo a corrective procedure.

She consequently seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Attorney Bruce P. Mayer of the Law Office of Bruce P. Mayer in Houston is representing the complainant.
