Patient alleges surgery institute caused injuries

Medical malpractice 06

HOUSTON — A Harris County patient is suing a surgery institute, alleging negligence caused her to be injured when a table collapse.

Helen Ross filed a complaint March 3 in Harris County Circuit Court against Houston Pain Associates, alleging the defendant failed to provide proper care.

According to the complaint, on March 3, 2015, Ross, 44, was placed on the treatment table inside Houston Pain Associates for symptoms of neck, back, shoulder and knee pain when the table collapsed. The suit says Ross fell off the table injuring her body severely.

As a result, Ross says she has suffered physical pain, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Houston Pain Associates failed to know about the defective condition of the treatment table, failed to warn Ross of the defective treatment table and still proceeded with operation and failed to inspect and replace the defective table to avoid any accident.

Ross seeks punitive damages, costs of court, prejudgment interest and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Don R. Caggins Sr. of Law Office of Don R. Caggins Sr. in Houston.
