TYLER — An engineering specialist is suing Anadarko Petroleum Corp., a natural gas exploration company, citing alleged age discrimination and wrongful discharge.

Nancy Keeling filed a complaint on March 6 in the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Anadarko Petroleum Corp., alleging that the natural gas exploration company violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, as a result of defendant's age discriminatory practices, she has been deprived of equal employment opportunities. She has suffered lost wages and benefits, emotional pain and suffering, inconvenience, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life. The plaintiff holds Anadarko Petroleum Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated her employment because of her age.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, exemplary and/or punitive damages in the sum of $250,000, attorney fees and costs and other relief. She is represented by Bob Whitehurst of Bob Whitehurst and Diane Whitehurst Attorneys at Law in Tyler.
