HOUSTON — A Galveston County woman is suing Taco Bell, alleging negligence in exposing the plaintiff to toxic mold.

Kristi Rainwater filed a complaint March 7 in Harris County District Court against Yum Brands Inc., doing business as Taco Bell Restaurants, alleging the restaurant operator breached its duty to maintain a safe work environment.

According to the complaint, due to Taco Bell's negligence, Rainwater became sick and her medical condition has worsened and she was hospitalized numerous times after being exposed to toxic mold as an employee at a Taco Bell restaurant in the Cypress area. During those times, the suit says, she experienced fatigue, painful breathing and severe headaches.

The plaintiff alleges Taco Bell negligently allowed her to be exposed to toxic mold.

Rainwater seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Alex Moheb of Moheb Law PLLC in Houston.
