HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a Houston hotel, alleging its negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries.
Sandra Steen filed a complaint March 10 in Harris County Circuit Court against Garrison Houston SW Propco, LLC, alleging the defendant failed to warn invitees of and make safe the defective condition existing at the hotel property in the Galleria area.
According to the complaint, on June 7, 2016, Steen was walking in an area designated for the use of hotel guests when she fell on an unmarked change in elevation in the walking surface. As a result, Steen says, she suffered physical injuries, mental anguish and cost of medical treatment.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to warn guests of the defective condition of the walking surface, failed to adequately inspect premises to see if a dangerous condition existed and failed to correct the condition that caused the accident.
Steen seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000, including damages, costs, pre-judgment interest, attorney fees and all just relief. She is represented by attorney Daragh Carter of Smith & Hassler in Houston.
