Wrongful term 08

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a health care company, alleging the defendant terminated her employment after she filed for a medical leave.

Angela Hildabolt filed a complaint March 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Highmark Health, alleging violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 29, 2016, Hildabolt was terminated from her employment at Highmark Health due to her request for medical leave. The plaintiff said she had to file for a medical leave to seek medical help for dizziness, continued insomnia, stress and exhaustion that resulted in lesions on her body.

As a result, Hildabolt says she has has suffered emotional distress and loss of income and benefits.

The plaintiff alleges Highmark Health failed to provide her access to continued FMLA leave and wrongfully terminated Hildabolt because of her disabilities and/or perceived disabilities.

Hildabolt seeks trial by jury, damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, back pay, front pay, attorney fees, costs of court and all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Todd Slobin of Shellist Lazarz Slobin, LLP in Houston.
