HOUSTON — A Harris County customer is suing Target, alleging negligence caused the plaintiff to suffer injuries.
Marjan Parker filed a complaint March 10 in Harris County District Court against Target Corporation, alleging failure to properly maintain the store floor and premises in general.
According to the complaint, on June 5, 2015, Parker was directed to the customer service at Target's store on Westheimer Road in Houston after she saw a problem with her receipt. While to the customer service counter, the suit says Parker slipped on a puddle of liquid that had accumulated on the tile floor, which caused injuries to her knee, wrist and head.
As a result, the lawsuit states, Parker suffered physical injuries, loss of earnings and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Target failed to make store conditions reasonably safe, failed to eliminate the risk of harm, failed to prevent customer exposure to the harm and failed to adequately warn plaintiff of the wet floor conditions.
Parker seeks trial by jury, actual damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Randall O. Sorrels of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto and Aziz in Houston.
