HOUSTON – A Starr County truck driver has filed a lawsuit in response to alleged exposure to a hazardous gas.

Domingo Silva is suing Sanchez Oil & Gas Corp. in the Harris County 333rd District Court, alleging the defendant owned and operated a jobsite near the South Texas town of Cotulla where he became exposed to hydrogen sulfide.

Silva reported to the jobsite last Jan. 7. His suit claims the atmosphere of the jobsite was rife with toxic amounts of the colorless and flammable gas, which immediately affects the olfactory nerve of the exposed individual.

Per Silva, the aforementioned exposure occurred just as he exited his truck.

He faults the defendant for knowing about the dangerous nature of the gas and failing to take precaution because of that knowledge.

Consequently, Silva seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Attorneys Tony Buzbee and Crystal Del Toro of The Buzbee Law Firm in Houston are representing the complainant.
