Customer blames gas station operator for injuries

Slip02

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a Houston gas station operator, alleging negligence led to the plaintiff suffering injuries.

Ginger Gibson filed a complaint March 13 in Harris County District Court against ANZ Market Inc., doing business as Fuel Express No. 12, alleging the defendant breached its duty to exercise reasonable care to avoid injury to individuals.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 24, Gibson was a customer at the Fuel Express No. 12 gas station when she violently twisted her foot on an unmarked concrete ledge. The suit says this caused Gibson to sustain injuries that resulted in physical and metal pain, loss of earning capacity and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently allowed an inconspicuous trip hazard to remain in the area and failed to warn customers of the unreasonable dangerous condition.

Gibson seeks trial by jury and seeks damages of at least $100,000, plus interest, costs of court and all other relief. She is represented by attorney Clifford D. Peel of Houston.
