HOUSTON — A Philadelphia woman is suing a Harris County wedding venue provider, alleging breach of contract.

Helen Samaniego filed a complaint March 20 in Harris County District Court against Water's Edge Venue, alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, as a result of Water's Edge's breach, Samaniego incurred economic damages of at least $6,385.77 and suffered mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant attempted to charge Samaniego $3,780 for a basic bar package, then did not provide any bar services and forced the plaintiff to pay an additional $1,000.

Samaniego seeks trial by jury, actual and economic damages, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorney George M. Tompkins of Tompkins PC in Allen.
