HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a child care provider, alleging the defendant's negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff's daughter.

Ericka Gallegos, on behalf of Aria Cervantes, a minor, filed a complaint March 24, in Harris County District Court against Kids Creche, alleging failure to employ competent and responsible employees to supervise the field trip.

According to the complaint, on July 21, 2016, the plaintiff's daughter, Aria Cervantes, was injured while on a field trip supervised by Kids Creche. The suit says she sustained second-degree burns and blisters when sliding down a very hot slide and has suffered  physical and mental pain.

The plaintiff alleges Kids Creche failed to exercise proper control of the children in its care.

Gallegos seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of up to $100,000 and all equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Nikita M. Lamar of The Lamar Legal Group in Houston.
