Customer blames Sears for injuries

Slip01

HOUSTON — A Brazoria County customer is suing Sears Roebuck, alleging its negligence led to injuries.

Johnnie Lockhart of Alvin filed a complaint April 4 in Harris County District Court against Sears, Roebuck Co., alleging failure to provide a safe environment.

According to the complaint, on June 28, 2016, Lockhart was walking in the automotive section of the Sears store in Friendswood when she slipped and fell in water on the floor. The suit says she experienced pain and suffering, medical expenses and mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges Sears, Roebuck failed to monitor and clean the area where Lockhart slipped and failed to warn her of the existence of the unreasonably safe condition.

Lockhart seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $100,00 and all just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Marty Herring of Marty Herring & Associates in Houston.
