Motorist blames another driver, employer for causing crash

Car accident 40

MARSHALL — A motorist is suing another driver and his employer, alleging their negligence caused a vehicle crash.

Comenia Woolen filed a complaint April 6 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Brock TJ Enterprises and Daniel E. Brunsen, alleging Brunsen failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle he was driving.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 12, 2016, Woolen was operating a 2000 Mercury Capri, traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 59 in Harrison County. The suit says Brunsen, who was driving a truck and towing a trailer owned by Brock, negligently struck the rear of plaintiff's vehicle.

The suit says Woolen sustained pain and suffering, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Brunsen failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to timely apply the brakes to avoid a collision.

Woolen seeks trial by jury, actual damages, post-judgment interest, court costs, fees and all other expenses and relief. She is represented by attorneys Brent Goudarzi and Marty Young of Goudarzi & Young LLP in Gilmer.
