Safety representative alleges employer failed to pay overtime

Late 07

GALVESTON — A Brazoria County man is suing his employer, alleging violation of workers compensation acts in not paying overtime.

Gary Ford filed a complaint May 1 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Strategic Contract Resources LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Ford regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week as a sales representative without receiving proper overtime compensation. Instead, the suit says, he was paid straight time for all hours worked in excess of 40 a week.

The plaintiff alleges Strategic Contract Resources failed and/or refused to pay him overtime premium for the hours he worked in excess of 40 a week at one and a half times his regular rate as required by FLSA.

Ford seeks trial by jury, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Clark Woodson III of Angleton.
