Kroger customer blames store for injuries

Slip01

GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing Kroger, alleging the store's negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Wanda Collins filed a complaint April 20 in Galveston County District Court against Kroger Texas LP, alleging failure to keep its premises reasonably safe for customers.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 14, 2016, Collins was injured when she tripped and fell due to the crushed concrete left in front of the entrance of the Kroger store on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston, leading to injuries and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Kroger Texas failed to remove all debris in front of the store or provide adequate warning.

Collins seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $75,000, actual damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and and all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys Brenton J. Allison, Douglas T. Gilman and Michael S. Prejean of Gilman Allison LLP in Pearland.
