Law money 12

HOUSTON — A consumer is suing National Credit Adjusters LLC, a debt collector, citing alleged unlawful collection practices.

Robin Slabaugh filed a complaint on May 8 in the Houston Division of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she began receiving calls on her cellular telephone on April 17, 2017 from the defendant, who was attempting to collect an alleged debt. As a result, plaintiff was annoyed, abused and harassed. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly attempting to collect an alleged that does not belong to her and continued to place collection calls despite the plaintiff’s dispute and requests to stop calling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $1,000, attorney's fees and costs and other appropriate relief. She is represented by Michael S. Agruss of Agruss Law Firm LLC in Chicago.
