Motorist blames tractor-trailer operators for crash

Semi crash 02

HOUSTON — A Harris County motorist is suing Baytown tractor-trailer operators, alleging their negligence led to a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Mark A. Edwards filed a complaint May 8 in Harris County District Court against Dimetrius Harrison and Martin Transport, alleging Martin Transport failed to properly train and supervise their employees.

According to the complaint, on July 14, 2015, Edwards was lawfully traveling on the right lane on North Broadway Street in La Porte when Harrison negligently made an unsafe left turn and struck Edwards' tractor. The suit says Edwards sustained multiple injuries and damages, resulting in physical pain, mental anguish and loss of earnings and profits.

The plaintiff alleges Harrison failed to maintain careful lookout and to yield right of way.

Edwards seeks trial by jury, damages between $100,000 and $200,000, interest and all other general and special relief. He is represented by attorney Timothy R. Hightower of Hightower Capellan in Houston.
