HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing a transportation agency, for allegedly not keeping her safe while entering or exiting a train.

Billie Graham filed a complaint on April 21 in the Harris County District Court against Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County alleging that the defendant violated the Texas Tort Claims Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that while exiting the defendant's metro train on March 1, 2016, the door closed suddenly and without warning causing plaintiff to fall and break her hip. As a result, Graham claims she was seriously injured, suffered mental anguish and incurred medical hospital and pharmaceutical charges.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to operate the train in a safe manner, maintain a proper lookout, properly train its employees and supervise its employees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for actual and compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other and further relief to which plaintiff may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by Kraig L. Rushing and Ben Bronston of Bronston Legal PC in Houston.
