Former employee accuses Harris County Emergency Corp. of racial discrimination

Wrongful term 12

HOUSTON — A former employee is suing Harris County Emergency Corp. for alleged racial discrimination and violation of civil rights.

Melvin Randle filed a complaint on April 13 in the Houston Division of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, alleging that the defendant terminated his employment after he complained of racial discrimination.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he experienced discrimination while being employed. Randle, who is African-American, claims that several employees made racially discriminatory comments and favored white employees. When the plaintiff complained, he was allegedly terminated. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly discriminating against him by limiting and depriving him of an employment opportunity.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, back pay wages, future wages, reinstatement, compensatory damages, punitive damages, attorney's fees, interest, court costs and other relief this court grants. He is represented by Alfonso Kennard, Jr. of Kennard Richard P.C. in Houston.
