Beaumont motorist blames another driver for causing crash

Car accident 30

BEAUMONT — A Beaumont motorist is suing another driver, alleging the defendant's negligence led to a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Bryan Sayrie filed a complaint May 3 in Jefferson County District Court against Clarence Durgin Jr. alleging the other motorist failed to operate his vehicle in a safe and lawful manner.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 12, Sayrie sustained severe and disabling injuries in a Beaumont automobile collision negligently caused by Durgin. The plaintiff says he suffered medical-related expenses, physical and mental pain and loss of earning capacity.

The plaintiff alleges Durgin failed to yield right of way, failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to timely apply his brakes to avoid a collision.

Sayrie seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court and all other just and equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Paul F. Ferguson of The Ferguson Law Firm in Beaumont.
