Couple alleges business partnership botched legal matters

HOUSTON — A Harris County couple is suing a business partnership, alleging fraud, tortious interference and slander of title.

Dr. Yigal Samocha and Jacquelyn Samocha filed a complaint May 15 in Harris County District Court against Calvin Darbonne, Trey Lewis and Lewbonne, alleging they wrongfully filed an affidavit for a Houston property. 

According to the complaint, the Samochas suffered damages for being unable to sell their Houston house, for loss of proceeds and money spent in preparing their property for sale and for having to pay a monthly mortgage payments to purchase a new home. 

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to execute a written contract and failed to timely file the lien affidavit and to send a copy of the same to the plaintiffs.

The Samochas seek monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, attorney fees and all other lawful and equitable relief. They are represented by attorney Michael Boltz of Boltz Law in The Woodlands.
