Transworld Systems Inc. accused of violating debt collection law with repeated phone calls

BROWNSVILLE – An Eagle Lake consumer alleges a Pennsylvania-based debt collector harassed him with phone calls.

Curtis Tillman filed a complaint on May 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas against Transworld Systems Inc. alleging that the debt collection company violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in July 2016, the defendant began contacted him in regards to an alleged debt. The plaintiff alleges he asked the defendant to send him information in writing regarding the alleged debt and to stop calling.

The plaintiff holds Transworld Systems Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to send written notification and continued to call for several months, despite his request to stop calling him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and statutory damages, attorneys’ fees, witness fees, court costs and such other relief deemed appropriate by the court. He is represented by Amy L. Bennecoff Ginsburg of Kimmel & Silverman PC in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
