MARSHALL — A Marshall property owner is suing the city, alleging unlawful seizure.

Freddie Oliver filed a complaint May 31 in Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against the city of Marshall, alleging the local municipality violated the plaintiff's 14th Amendment rights.

According to the complaint, on June 6, 2016, Oliver suffered damages of approximately $22,000 because the city of Marshall took the plaintiff's property without due process of law.

Oliver seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages, attorney fees and court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney William Todd Hughey of The Hughey Law Firm PLLC in Marshall.
