Motorist blames car damage on convenience store/gas station

Car accident 26

GALVESTON — A Montgomery County man is suing a Galveston County convenience store and gas station operator, alleging their negligence caused damages to his car.

Robert Ryan filed a complaint June 6 in Galveston County District Court against Corner Mart LLC, alleging failure to exercise ordinary care to leave the store's parking lot in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on July 31, 2016, Ryan suffered personal property damages when he drove his car into an storm drain hole in the parking lot of a Valero gas station in Crystal Beach. Ryan says the car damages totaled $4,437.36, and he alleges Corner Mart negligently left the parking lot in dangerous condition without any warning.

Ryan seeks trial by jury, up to $100,000 in monetary relief, costs of suit and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Stephen Garner and Meredith M. Peek of The Garner Law Firm in Houston.
