Consumer claims that Vance and Huffman invaded her privacy with collection calls

SHERMAN – A Colin County consumer has filed a class action against a debt collector over allegations it invaded her privacy.

Crystal Domenico-Grider filed a complaint on behalf of individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated filed a complaint on June 22 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Vance and Huffman LLC and Great American Insurance Co. alleging that they violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Texas Finance Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Vance and Huffman LLC has been attempting to collect an alleged debt from her and that she disputes that account.

The plaintiff holds Vance and Huffman LLC and Great American Insurance Company responsible because defendant Vance and Huffman allegedly intentionally intruded plaintiff's private affairs and did not inform plaintiff that it was debt collector for the purpose of causing plaintiff to believe that it was a law firm.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and statutory damages, attorney's fees and costs and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Jeffrey D. Wood of The Wood Firm PLLC in Little Rock, Arkansas.
