HOUSTON – A former employee of a business owned by a Spring man alleges that he was not paid overtime during his employment.
Jeremy Mills filed a complaint on June 23 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against the J & MB LP, doing business as Kwik Kar at Champions, and Joseph Bordonaro citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendants from May 2015 to June 2016 as a manager. He alleges that he consistently worked over 40 hours per week for defendants, but was not paid the required overtime premium for those hours worked over 40 hours per workweek.
The plaintiff holds J & MB LP and Bordonaro responsible because the defendants allegedly paid plaintiff the same hourly wage for all hours worked during workweek.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to recover unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, costs and attorney’s fees and such other just and equitable relief. He is represented by Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu of The Buenker Law Firm in Houston.
