HOUSTON – A Houston woman alleges her former employer terminated her and interfered with her Family Medical Leave Act rights.
Patricia Robichaud filed a complaint on July 7 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against BKFS I Services LLC, Black Knight Financial Services LLC, Black Knight Management Services LLC, Black Knight Technology Solutions LLC and Edward Harank alleging that they violated the Family Medical Leave Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was summoned to jury duty in March 2016 and that Harank threatened to terminate her employment after she returned to work. She alleges Harank continued the disparate treatment after the death of her mother in November 2016. The suit states she was terminated by Harank on Dec. 14, 2016.
The plaintiff holds BKFS I Services LLC, Black Knight Financial Services LLC, Black Knight Management Services LLC, Black Knight Technology Solutions LLC and Harank responsible because the defendants allegedly discriminated and retaliated against her for attempting to exercise her rights under the FMLA.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reinstatement, actual and liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and costs and such other relief to which the she may be entitled. She is represented by Mark Siurek and Patricia Haylon of Warren & Siurek LLP in Houston.
