Former Dexter Field Services administrative assistant alleges she is owed unpaid overtime

Law money 06

BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County woman formerly employed as an administrative assistant for an air quality consultant service for the oil and gas industry alleges that she was not paid for her overtime work.

Sharon Strickland filed a complaint on July 11 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern Division of Texas against Dexter Field Services LP and Dexter ATC Field Services LLC alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked for the defendant until June and that her typical weekly schedule was 60 hours. She alleges she was only compensated for 40 of those hours.

The plaintiff holds Dexter Field Services LP and Dexter ATC Field Services LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay her at a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular wage rate for the overtime hours worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, costs, expenses and such other and further relief. She is represented by Beatriz-Sosa Morris of Sosa-Morris Neuman in Houston.
